Yesterday (January 3), junior doctors started a six day walkout due to an ongoing pay dispute.

From 7am on Wednesday January 3, until 7am on Tuesday January 9, junior doctors from BMA (British Medical Association) are taking industrial action in the longest strike to date.

This six-day walkout coincides with the busiest period of the year for the NHS.

BMA says the strikes plan to achieve full pay restoration to reverse the steep decline in pay faced by junior doctors since 2008/9.

We spoke to people in Manchester about the strikes.
