Bee Network Metrolink: Cornbrook work to have widespread impact on service- here’s where trams will run to

Work at Cornbrook in Manchester is set to have a widespread impact on the Metrolink tram network this week. The work on Sunday October 22 will see a change to the service pattern on the trams. 

Cornbrook is one of the biggest interchanges on the Metrolink with eight lines passing through. As a result of this, one of the disruptions will be no trams between Manchester city centre and Eccles for the whole day. 

Services will also be running between Altrincham and Old Trafford but services from Rochdale Town Centre will stop at Deansgate-Castlefield. The full list of the service pattern in place for Sunday is below: 

• Bury to Ashton-under-Lyne

• Altrincham to Old Trafford

• Rochdale Town Centre to Deansgate-Castlefield

• East Didsbury to Firswood

• Manchester Airport to Firswood

• Trafford Centre to Wharfside

• No trams will operate between Eccles and the city centre

Danny Vaughan, head of Metrolink said: “We are very sorry for any inconvenience these essential works may cause people to people travelling on these dates. “However, it’s important we maintain and improve the network so it continues to provide a reliable and safe service to all our customers. “The work has been scheduled to minimise disruption during the week, when more use the network and we will be doing everything we can to keep the disruption to a minimum.

“We have a comprehensive replacement bus service across all affected dates, so people can still get to and from their intended destinations and I’d encourage passengers to monitor our website and social media channels for the latest information and advice.”
