Every year, the UK’s education and child services regulator Ofsted inspects schools up and down the country and reports on its findings.
Each school is then rated either ‘outstanding,’ ‘good,’ ‘requires improvement’ or ‘inadequate’ based on overall effectiveness, quality of education, behaviours and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
In 2023, 16 high schools in Manchester were visited by Ofsted. Here is how each of them rated, including private and special education schools.
1. Abraham Moss Community School
Abraham Moss Community School in Crumpsall was converted to academy status in September 2023.
2. Cedar Mount Academy
Cedar Mount Academy in Gorton was given the ‘required improvement’ by Ofsted rating in June 2023.
3. CHS South
CHS South in Chorlton was rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in February 2023.
4. Co-op Academy Manchester
Co-op Academy in Blackley was rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in April 2023.
