The Library and Leisure Centre facilities have been completely revamped

The Abraham Moss Library has reopened following an extensive period of refurbishment. The site has been transformed following a multi-million pound project that boasts Manchester’s first ever Indoor Urban Cricket centre.

The centre opened up to locals earlier this month, and has been turned into a community spot with plenty of facilities. A six-lane swimming pool, squash courts and a sauna also features in the new centre.

Abraham Moss Library has free high quality Wi-Fi, new books, self-issue facilities and a diverse range of events for people to enjoy. The new, open plan library is open to all residents who register for free with the library and will be open 7 days a week.

The cricket centre is the first of its kind in Manchester, and it has been backed by Lancashire Cricket Club. It is hoped it will allow the game to grow and be played by more people within the local community.

Councillor John Hacking, Executive Member for Skills, Employment and Leisure said:  "The reopening of Abraham Moss Library and Leisure Centre marks the completion of a landmark project. Residents in the Crumpsall area and beyond will now be able to benefit from a new, improved and modernised library and, state of the art leisure facilities in the heart of their communities.

“The reopening of the fantastic facilities at Abraham Moss shows that we are committed to improving community facilities for local communities and encouraging residents to lead healthier lifestyles. Abraham Moss is one of the many leisure centres and libraries across the city that are benefiting from Council investment to ensure the hubs are better equipped to service the needs of the community.
