M6 J32: motorway closed after accident involving sheep transporter causes traffic congestion

Traffic is building after the motorway was shut in both directions shortly before rush hour today (10 August).

Motorists have been warned of delays on the M6 in Lancashire today after an accident involving a vehicle carrying sheep.

The collision occurred on the northbound carriageway between junctions 32 at Preston North and junction 33 at Galgate at around 3pm today.

Highways bosses said a vehicle transporting sheep had overturned following a crash and they have had to shut the motorway in both directions.

Delays are expected while the sheep are safely put in another vehicle.

Motorists reported hold-ups of about 25 minutes in the area.
