Virgin Atlantic has made a huge announcement for passengers catching flights at Manchester Airport. The announcement could reduce waiting times for passengers, giving you longer time to spend in duty free.

The British airline made its announcement on social media on Monday (May 29) just ahead of the school half-term. The new Twilight Check-In will begin on Wednesday (May 31), making checking in quicker for passengers.

Passengers will now be able to validate their passports and tag bags ahead of checking-in, making the process smoother. The airline is yet to announce further details and  whether the new check-in will roll out to other airports, including London Heathrow and London Gatwick

Virgin Atlantic had previously offered the early check-ins and bag drops at both Manchester and London Gatwick before the Covid pandemic. The service will open between 4pm and 8pm the day before flights and is available to all passengers with flights leaving the airport.

The Twilight check-in service will allow passengers to check-in to their flight the day before flying, so that passengers can just go straight to security on the day of their flights. This can speed up the process for morning flights, allowing passengers extra sleep before they need to arrive at the airport.
