Greens, one of Manchester’s oldest vegetarian restaurants owned by TV chef Simon Rimmer, announced it was closing its doors this week citing rent hikes as the cause.
Unfortunately, this sad news has come just in time for Veganuary, the annual tradition that sees people ditching meat for a plant-based diet as a kind of detox after the indulgent festive season.
The Didsbury restaurant will be sorely missed even if its Sale branch is staying open. But luckily there are more and more vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Manchester every year – from fast food joints to high-end dining.
