A Greater Manchester pub has reopened to drinkers following a £150,000 makeover including major changes to the interior.
The Bricklayers, located in Failsworth in Oldham, threw its doors back open to the public once more for the coronation weekend and the occasion was marked in style, with a DJ and karaoke for the reopening night.
The watering hole now has a new look and feel on the interior, with major changes to both the front and back bar, lighting and flooring. The decor has also been given an upgrade for a more modern feel and two TVs have been installed in the beer garden outside as well.
As well as providing drinks the pub has a busy schedule of community events and fund-raisers for charity. The pub has been hosting craft fairs in its garden and has successfully raised enough money to have a defibrillator installed on site.
Operator of the Bricklayers, Wendy Sheil, said: “Opening night was fantastic, it was amazing to see all our customers, old and new, coming to see what the pub has to offer! The feedback we received from our community was amazing, and we can’t wait to see them again soon!”
Matthew Gurney, operations director for Proper Pubs, said: “The refurbishment at the Bricklayers looks fantastic – the team have worked really hard to ensure it is a success for the local community.
“On behalf of the Proper Pubs team, we would like to wish our community hero, Wendy, every success for the future in making the Bricklayers a fantastic hub of the community”.
