Society launches festive menu – including gingerbread cosmos and Christmas dinner burgers

The independent food and drink traders based at Society have launched their Christmas menus and there’s a wide variety of festive creations to tuck into – including beetroot bhajis, loaded fries with all the trimmings and gingerbread Cosmopolitans. 

The multi-kitchen venue is perfect for festive get-togethers, tucked away next to the Bridgewater Hall and away from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas markets. The food hall boasts five independent food traders representing cuisine from around the world, plus a cocktail and wine bar and the Manchester taproom of Hebden Bridge-based brewery Vocation. 

We were invited along for a preview of the menu items and were not disappointed. Highlights included the beetroot bhajis from Chaat Cart and the decadent Have Yourself a Cherry Little Christmas cocktail. Here is the full round-up of the festive specials on offer. 

What to expect

Vocation – The brewery has got two special Christmassy brews for guests to enjoy, Yule Log Chocolate Stout and a Chocolate Orange Stout.

If cocktails are more your thing, you can try the White Christmas, a Baileys Espresso Martini, or the Gingerbread Cosmopolitan with rum, cranberry juice, ginger, and cointreau, as well as the Have Yourself a Cherry Little Christmas, which includes Amaretto, cherry liqueur and Maraschino cherries. 

Slap & Pickle – The star menu item is the All I Want For Christmas Burger, which includes 40-day dry-aged grass-fed beef patties, topped with cranberry wensleydale, bacon, beef fat-fried Christmas pudding, pickled red cabbage, Paxo mayo, cranberry mostarda, shredded lettuce and pickles in a brioche bun, served with gravy.

If you still have room for more, you can also get the All The Trimmings Fries, which comes with pigs-in-blankets rain, crumbled cranberry Wensleydale, Paxo Mayo, cranberry mostarda, roasted root veg crisps, and chopped parsley, also served with gravy. 

Manzoku – The sushi specialists are offering festive bao buns, with a lobster, prawn, and crispy prosciutto filling, as well as a seared teriyaki salmon, panko prawn, avocado, cucumber, tobiko, and masago snowball sushi roll. 

Noi Quattro – The Neapolitan Christmas pizza comes with mozzarella fior di latte, gorgonzola, walnuts, dry-cured smoked ham, and honey. 

Chaat Cart – Their Christmas specials include onion and beetroot bhaji baubles, a Royal Indian chicken curry, and chickpea chole. 

Yoki Social – The Korean fried chicken joint is offering honey BBQ fried chicken with fries or rice, beef BBQ steak with rice and house salad, and crispy roasted duck.
