San Carlo Alderley Edge named ‘Best New Opening’ at prestigious restaurant awards

San Carlo Alderley Edge has won an award for ‘Best New Opening’ at this year’s Restaurant R200 awards. 

The family-run San Carlo Group opened the new Alderley Edge restaurant in August 2023, following on from the success of their other 30 locations, including one in Manchester city centre. Their other restaurants can be found in London to Bristol, Leicester, Liverpool, Leeds, Kuwait, Bangkok and Qatar. San Carlo are also preparing to open new restaurants in Bahrain, Dubai and Riyadh. 

The 164-cover Alderley Edge restaurant has grand interiors inspired by Milanese villas and gardens, with features such as Venetian-inspired patterned terrazzo floor throughout and a year-round terrace with retractable roof.

Their food offers a contemporary take on classic Italian cuisine. It is located on London Road in the heart of Alderley Edge.

What are the R200 awards?

The annual industry awards are hosted by Restaurant magazine and celebrate the country’s best restaurateurs and establishments. Some of the other 2023 winners include Flat Iron, Pizza Pilgrims and Turtle Bay. 

The ceremony took place on Tuesday 21 November at Dishoom Canary Wharf.
