Bolton-born singer Tom Parker, who died in March 2022, has been posthumously nominated for a National Television Award.

The musician, who most famously sang for popular boy band The Wanted, has been shortlisted in the final five for the Authored Documentary category.

His film, Tom Parker: Inside My Head, is up for the accolade alongside Paddy and Christine McGuinness, Kate Garraway, Katie Price, and Julia Bradbury.

The prestigious awards ceremony, hosted this year by comedian Joel Dommett, will be held at OVO Arena Wembley on Thursday October 13, 2022.

Who was Tom Parker?

Thomas Anthony Parker was an English singer best known for being a member of boy band The Wanted, which sold 12 million records worldwide.

The musician was highly successful with the group as they released three studio albums and achieved two number one singles. After the band’s hiatus in 2014, Parker embarked on a solo career.

An avid DJ, Parker collaborated with Richard Rawson on the 2014 track ‘Fireflies’. He also took part in the 2015 series of Celebrity MasterChef, reaching the semi-finals of the competition.

Parker married Kelsey Hardwick in 2018 and the pair had two children together - a daughter born in July 2019 and a son born in October 2020.
