National Pub Fortnight: How you can get a free pint at Manchester watering holes until August 22

Here’s how you can get your hands on a beer in Manchester without having to pay a penny this month.

National Pub Fortnight is back and Great British pubs is celebrating in style.

Drinkers are being encouraged to get a round in with a buy one get one free offer.

There are loads of Manchester pubs taking part in the scheme.

A search on the Great British Pubs website brings up some 50 different venues across Greater Manchester within 6.2 miles of the centre.

Where can you get a free drink?

Centrally-located venues include the Town Hall Tavern on Tib Lane, the Director’s Box on Booth Street and Deansgate pub The Lost Dene.

Other names on the list include the Crown and Anchor on Hilton Street, the Peveril of the Peak on Great Bridgewater Street and the Crafty Pig on Oldham Street.

A bit further out there are pubs in locations including Droylsden, Stockport, Ashton-under-Lyne and Urmston all taking part.

What do I have to do?

Getting your free pint is pretty straightforward. Here’s what you have to do.

Step 1: Confirm you’re over the age of 18 and enter your details on the website.

Step 2: Find and select your local participating pub

Step 3: Select a drink from the range available

Step 4: Purchase the same drink at the bar or at your table

Step 5: Show staff the redeem page and click ‘REDEEM’

Step 6: Enjoy the free drink and share with your friends!

Why are free drinks being offered?

National Pub Fortnight 2021 is supporting the Campaign Against Living Miserably (Calm).

It is hoped that the offer will contribute towards helping people get out of the house and socialise over a pint.

The fortnight will support Calm’s work and you can donate to the charity on the website too.
