Nothing beats a good Sunday Roast - especially at this time of year. And it’s good news for Mancs on the hunt for that iconic British meal as four Greater Manchester spots have been named among the top 10 places to grab one in the country.
Viral Instagram account Rate Good Roasts has ranked their best of the year having sampled nearly 200 roasts over the past 12 months. Each roast is reviewed against 10 categories that make up a special Sunday lunch: meat, vegetables, sides, potatoes, gravy, Yorkshire pudding, venue, drinks, value, and service.

TV chef Simon Rimmer’s vegetarian place Greens in Sale ranks sixth on 93% having wowed with their nut roast. Middle-Eastern inspired Maray on Brazennose Street rounds out the top 10 on 89%
Tom Casson, Rate Good Roast’s chief eating officer, said: "There's something romantic about a Sunday Roast. It's an event. Whether it’s an opportunity to see old friends or a family celebration of some kind. You don't want to be let down. As an adult, it almost feels like you are going out, out on a Sunday.
"You want a stand out dish on the specials board, a lamb or a porchetta and a creative main option for our veggie or vegans friends. Personally I want the Yorkshire puddings big enough to act as a vessel for the gravy. Potatoes need to be in that sweet venn diagram spot of fluffy and crispy."
