The cheapest cities on average for a pint according to the date are Birmingham and Nottingham. These have a joint price of £3.97, with Glasgow third cheapest at £4.34.

Compared with some European cities, Manchester looks very expensive. The cheapest city on the continent was found to be Valencia in Spain, with the average cost of a domestic beer costing under £2. Some UK cities, including Manchester, are still very cheap compared to several European cities, however. Oslo, the Norwegian capital, has an average beer price of an eye-watering £7.41.
