January is typically the busiest time of year for people making holiday bookings. The anticipation of Christmas and a New Year has gone, and the new year blues may have settled in.

Many travel companies offer promotions in January to kickstart the year - including discounted fares, package deals and offers - and travellers looking to escape the cold winter months of England are often keen to book.

Manchester Airport welcomed two million passengers through its doors in December and is ready for a busy 2024. We spoke to them about their top destinations, new routes and travel tips for 2024 and also asked people in the city about their travel plans for the next 12 months.
