Manchester Airport is a bustling transport hub that flies people across the world. To make this possible, a large workforce operates the terminals and runways.
One of these is Ethan Ferguson, who is Backfill Customer Experience Duty Manager. His role involves him managing any one of the three terminals in a day, with a big part of his job being part of the VIP meet and greets. Ethan has met a wide range of celebrities with the most famous name a two-way choice.

I've also met Freddie Flintoff when he was doing some filming in check-in before flying, he was brilliant and somebody I have always admired.

“I think the majority of well-known faces we see through the airport are down to earth, our role is just to make sure they have a positive and seamless experience through the airport.”
One of the more recent new recruits to the airport, Ethan joined in September 2023 as Customer Experience Ambassador. He was then promoted in January.
“My priority is ensuring our passengers have the very best experience when travelling/arriving through the airport,” Ethan said about his role. “This means you can often find me at crucial passenger touch points such as check-in, the departure lounge and immigration, ensuring everything runs smoothly and helping our passengers with any issues.
