Gaining mass appeal due to pure drama, flirty games and laugh-out-loud moments, the 2022 series is the biggest yet.

This would have raised the excitement of the show’s fans, with more episodes than ever before.

But who is entering the villa? A list of 11 contestants has been officially announced, which consists of six girls and five boys, not including the bombshells such as Ekin-Su that have since entered.

One of the near-dozen contestants hails from the Manchester region - so here is everything you must know about Davide Sacliamenti.

Who is the Love Island contestant from Manchester?

The contestant that comes from the city of Manchester is Davide Sacliamenti.

Born in Rome before moving to the North West of England, Davide, 27, is a business owner that is on the lookout for true love this summer.

In a statement, the Italian could not hide his excitement ahead of his trip to Mallorca in 2022.

"I think Love Island is going to be so much fun,” he said.

“I’m going to be the Italian stallion in the Villa! With my Italian charm, I can also be a very romantic guy.

"I’m good looking and I’ve realised since I first arrived in Manchester, a lot of English girls actually love me.

“They love to be around me and I love to be around them. It’s going to be fun, I’m looking forward to it."

An issue that has been raised amongst fans and the general British public since the ever-growing popularity of Love Island is the question as to whether the intentions of its contestants match with the show’s premise of ‘looking for love’.

It seems that there is a vocal section of the Love Island fandom and beyond that believe that some contestants are just going into the show to further their reputation and gain sponsorship deals - not incessantly to find lifelong love.

However, according to Manchester’s own Davide Sanclimenti, he is in Love Island for ‘the right reasons’ as he is on a quest to meet someone:

"I want to find my soulmate, find my person so I can actually build something in the future, grow with them, be a family” he said.

Does he have social media?

Davide Sanclimenti is an ever-present on social media, especially Instagram where he showcases stylish snaps of his life and model-like headshots.

The 27-year-old currently has just over 9,600 followers at the time of publication - he had just shy of 3,000 before his participation in this year’s Love Island was made public knowledge.
