When it comes to the Gallagher brothers, you’re never far away from exciting news, and this month looks set to be an interesting one for fans of Liam. The former Oasis singer has teased news of his planned ‘Definitely Maybe’ 30th anniversary tour.

The speculation over a 2024 tour has been on the rise for months now, with Liam taking to Twitter back in May to set out his aims. He wrote: “As it’s 30 years since [‘Definitely Maybe’] was released nxt year I’m gonna be playing the album from start to finish in its original order at a few BIBLICAL venues''

More recently, Gallagher gave more insight into what we can expect from the ‘Definitely Maybe’ tour through responses to fans on social media. This included a suggestion he would sing an Oasis track for the first time since the band split.

In response to a fan asking if ‘Take Me Away’ is on the setlist, Liam said: “No but Half the world away will be I’ve never sung that song before somebody stop me cmon.” The song was sung by Noel Gallagher and featured on the Oasis B-side compilation album ‘The Masterplan’, an album which is being remastered and released for its 25th anniversary later this year.

Liam also used social media to say that tour dates are “in the post”. On the tour, it is expected he will play ‘Definitely Maybe’ in its entirety.

Where Liam Gallagher could perform in Manchester

With speculation increasing even more about Liam Gallagher’s tour, we can now start to wonder where in Manchester his hometown gig would take place. Depending on the time of year the tour takes place, there’s five Manchester venues where Liam Gallagher could bring the ‘Definitely Maybe’ Tour.

The first is the AO Arena. It is at this moment in time the biggest indoor venue in Manchester, although this will change when Co-op Live opens its doors in spring 2024. Gallagher last performed at the arena in 2019 as part of his ‘Why Me? Why Not’ tour.

His most recent Manchester appearance was at the home of his beloved Manchester City, the Etihad Stadium. Gallagher has recently had his own personal touch on the Etihad, with a special announcement recorded by himself which is being used on the Metrolink tram stop at the Etihad Campus. An appearance here would, like it has in the past, be a match made in heaven.

Third on the possible venues is the new Co-op Live. The venue will be located just next to the Etihad and will be accessible from several Metrolink tram stops. Gallagher’s announcement there would be arguably one of the biggest made by the new venue so far.

Another outside venue next, and one which Gallagher has also performed at before. Old Trafford Cricket Ground hosted Gallagher in 2018 on his ‘As You Were’ tour and it is fair to say the cricket ground is the closest he’ll get to perform at Old Trafford Football Ground.

Last but by no means least in the list of potential Liam Gallagher venues is the Castlefield Bowl. The central venue is easy to get to and is well known for hosting top music acts over its annual summer series.
