The latest addition to this will be a new 44 storey residential tower in the heart of the city. Located on a site adjacent to Deansgate Train Station at Whitworth Street West, the building plan is set to have a design that will ‘respond to the city’s heritage’ by ‘delivering striking street activation’ through an arched terracotta colonnade.
Developers Glenbrook are behind the project, and they have submitted a full planning application. The building is set to have 364 apartments which will have a great view of Manchester’s ever-changing skyline and city streets.

In addition to the skylines, Glenbrook have also confirmed they will create new public spaces which is hoped to enhance the streetscape and improve pedestrian connections along Whitworth Street West. This will be a continuation of the development of this particular area of the city centre.
Tony O’Brien, Partner at Sheppard Robson, said: “By opening up the site, we are creating vibrant public spaces and pathways that enhance connections across this part of the city. The building’s terracotta, high-performance façade references both the existing and historic context, while introducing a distinctly modern addition to the evolving skyline of Manchester.”
Daniel Roberts, Development Director at Glenbrook, added: “As part of our ongoing commitment to deliver exceptional urban homes, we have used our extensive experience of delivering high quality residential developments and feedback from our operational partners to ensure Whitworth Street West truly responds to the requirements of residents, both now and in the future.
“We believe this development and its exceptional location offer the opportunity to push the boundaries of city-centre living, and we’re hugely excited about the prospect to bring such a prestigious building to the market.”
