Greggs announces late night opening hours & new dinner menu: Every store in Manchester taking part

Greggs has announced it will be changing the opening hours of some of its UK branches - including a few in Manchester - allowing them to stay open later.

The bakery chain revealed the news on Twitter, along with an announcement teasing a variety of new menu items.

Customers will now be able to purchase new customisable pizzas and hot desserts - as well as the usual favourites from 4pm until late at night.

The Greggs stores selected will now stay open until either 8 or 8.30pm, with some even keeping their doors ajar until 11pm.

What are the items on the new Greggs dinner menu?

Greggs’ new dinner menu includes customisable pizzas that come with a choice of three toppings, including Chargrill Chicken, Mexican Chicken, Pepperoni, Red Onion, Jalapenos and Mixed Peppers, on top of a focaccia base.

The chain is offering a deal to celebrate - as customers can pick up any pizza and drink for £2.20 past 4pm.

There’s also a selection of meal deal bundles and a range of sides available, including Southern Fried Potato Wedges, Spicy BBQ Chicken Bites, Southern Fried Chicken Goujons, and Vegan Southern Fried Chicken-Free Goujons.

Existing flakey favourites such as bakes, sausage rolls and toasties are still on the menu. Greggs has also given the classic Yum Yum a twist by serving it hot with a dipping sauce - with milk chocolate or salted caramel as choices.

Following Greggs’ announcement, 11 stores in Manchester will be staying open later than usual. These include:

• 93 Piccadilly, M1 2DA - Open until 8.30pm.
• U6 Peter House, Oxford Street, M1 5AN - Open until 8.30pm.
• 7A Piccadilly, M1 1LZ - Open until 9pm.
• 16 Gateway House, M1 2GH - Open until 11.30pm.
• Victoria Station Concourse Kiosk, M3 1WY - Open until 11.30pm.
