Good Beer Guide 2023: 10 pubs in Manchester included in the book of places to get a perfect pint

The guide to where to go for a great pint is celebrating half a century of helping people find superb real ale - and there are plenty of local haunts included.

The 50th edition of the Good Beer Guide published by the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) is out and unsurprisingly Manchester is very well represented.

In her introduction to the landmark volume award-winning author Laura Hadland notes that Manchester has a lot to offer beer and cider lovers and highlights the fantastic array of pubs to visit across the North West.

The Good Beer Guide 2023 lists 159 pubs in Greater Manchester with 36 new entries. There are also 66 breweries listed in the city-region, five of them new ones. However, in less positive news the guide also says nine breweries have shut.

Here we’ve picked out 10 of the Manchester pubs which have made it into the guide’s hallowed pages, ranging from modern contemporary craft beer bars to traditional boozers with centuries of history, and taken a look at what Camra has said about them.
