Four Manchester restaurants are on a list of the top 10 most viewed places to eat outside London on the social network site TikTok.

Social media users love to discuss their favourite restaurants and share pictures and video footage of great places to eat - and some of Manchester’s are among the most popular.

The hashtag #restaurants has more than 772 million views on TikTok and analysis has been done to see where people are keenest to talk about and share. And it is not bad news for Manchester’s vibrant food and dining scene, with four of its restaurants among the top 10 places outside London in the UK with the largest numbers of views. So here are the dining establishments in the city which are most irresistible to TikTok users.

Which Manchester restaurants made the list of the most views on TikTok?

Betway has done the analysis of which restaurants across the country had the most views on the #restaurants hashtag on TikTok. The most viewed places in the UK are all in London, but Manchester has four of the most 10 looked-at places outside of the capital city.

The top place in the city with users of the social media network is Tattu, which has had 485,700 views on the TikTok hashtag. The modern Chinese restaurant and bar in Spinningfields with a dark wooden interior containing carved screens. The menu includes cocktails as well as dim sum and small plates which people are encouraged to share.

The second most viewed Manchester restaurant on the top 10 list is 20 Stories, with 322,200 views. Another Spinningfields location, 20 Stories takes its name from its high-rise rooftop location with stunning views across the city and serves modern British cuisine on its menu.

The other two Manchester restaurants which are on the list of most viewed eateries outside London are Australasia, which has 108,200 views, and the Peter Street Kitchen which has 80,400.

Australasia has a glass entrance on Deansgate which leads diners down a flight of stairs to the subterranean venue, which serves modern Australian food with influences from Indonesia and Japan. Peter Street Kitchen is on the ground floor of the 19th century Free Trade Hall and serves a mixture of Mexican and Japanese food.

Betway’s analysis created a list of 150 establishments with the most pleasing aesthetics according to TikTok’s users. The site is popular with people searching for a restaurant as foodies can post quick reviews lasting a few seconds which give a glimpse of the cuisine and the decor on offer.

The presence of four restaurants in the top 10 outside London means that among UK cities Manchester has the most TikTokable food scene away from the capital city.
