Six week ‘bier extravaganza’ is coming to city centre bar

Alberts Schloss - the vast and lively bar famed for its live entertainment as well as its drinks - is kicking off a beer of the week for six weeks titled ‘Albert’s Top Six’ for summer.

Each week, for six weeks only, starting from August a ‘bier of the week’ will be showcased at the bar on Peter Street along with a host of fun after work- or ‘apres work’- sessions.

Stars of the show each week will include, what they describe as ‘a wunderbar’ selection: Pilsner Urquell, Erdinger Weissbrau, Stiegl, Goldbrau, Fruli, Paulaner Munich.

Albert’s Schloss is renowned for its range of proper bier, and that’s all down to the Tapsters across its three Schloss’ – Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool - who make the pilgrimage to Plzeň to undergo the Plzen, Tapster Programme of five days of training at Pilsner HQ.

It is also famed for its entertaining shows - the last time I was there a drag queen de-robed down to nothing but a thong, nipple tassles and a pair of platform heels - it was great.

The bar is offering new Apres-Work sessions 4-7pm every Monday to Friday and will be showcasing some of the city’s musicians, performers and artistes on its stage.

There will always be Alpine-inspired dishes and Bavarian feasts on offer inspired by the team’s travels across Alpine Europe.
