A popular city centre Polish restaurant has reopened for 2023 with a two-day potato pancake festival where the delicious traditional dish is reimagined. Platzki in Manchester city centre has turned the humble potato into pancake form and is celebrating it on January 18 and 19.

The acclaimed Deansgate Polish restaurant Platzki, based at the Great Northern Warehouse, serves a menu filled with traditional food from the country and we were invited down to sample some of their soups, sausage, and potato pancakes, all washed down with samples from their huge range of flavoured vodkas.

The creamy mushroom potato pancake and souerkraut soup are worth a particular mention, and are both fantastic options to introduce Polish cuisine to those wishing to try food from the Central European country. Check out our video review for our verdict.
