Manchester pub re-opens its doors after massive six-figure transformation
The Flying Horse, a popular pub in Heald Green, Manchester, has reopened its doors to the public following a six-figure investment.
With Manchester Airport just a six-minute drive away, the Flying Horse pub is officially welcoming locals and tourists alike to experience its new and improved look.

Key features of the investment include the modernisation of the pub’s interior with a new open-plan restaurant space, complete with updated furniture and décor to provide an enhanced dining experience. There is also a new self-serve coffee machine to accompany the pub’s selection of meals to suit breakfast, lunch and dinner occasions.
The Flying Horse’s sports area has been fully refurbished to include a brand-new darts lane and upgraded TV screens showing the latest live fixtures on Sky Sports and TNT Sports throughout the day and night.
The pub’s exterior has also received significant improvements in perfect time for the summer season, with additional outdoor seating and comfortable garden furniture offering a welcoming and relaxing spot for guests, while children can enjoy the pub’s outdoor playground.
To celebrate the relaunch, the Flying Horse has donated to the nearby 1st Gatley (St James) Scout Group as part of its efforts to support local community initiatives.
Kimberley Steele, general manager of the Flying Horse, said: “The Flying Horse is a much-loved pub in the local area, providing guests of all ages with the perfect spot to come together and enjoy fantastic entertainment experiences.”
Adding: “We are over the moon to unveil the pub’s new look and feel from 25 July. With major enhancements to the pub’s interior and exterior, as well as an improved drinks selection and a modernised sports area, the Flying Horse offers something for everyone. Our team is passionate about delivering first-class customer experiences, and we look forward to welcoming those in the local community to come in and enjoy the great Flying Horse atmosphere!”
