I got a free pizza from the new Italian restaurant "Forbici" and it was amazing
The line only grew bigger for Forbici despite me having arrived there nearly one whole hour before they opened.
You’ve probably seen all over social media that the new Italian restaurant Forbici (meaning “Scissors”) was opening today and to celebrate this they decided to give away 1,000 free whole pizzas between the hours of 12 pm - 2pm.
The restaurant is located on Cook Street and the queue that gathered at 12 pm reached the whole way down.

A couple minutes of waiting after opening I was taken to my table and offered the menu with the selection of free pizzas. Not only was the interior modern and chic but the menu was the same with an array of food and varying toppings for the pizzas.
The free pizzas offered included a margherita, capricciosa, diavola and zuchine al tartufo. Here there was a mixture of everything from artichokes and spicy Napoli salami for the meat-eaters and vegan mozzarella and chestnut mushrooms for those less inclined.

As a vegetarian myself, I decided (as someone who always goes for a classic margherita) to instead try the vegan zuchine al tartufo. I was cautious about this as vegan pizza can often be a miss due to the cheeses that are used. However, I can confidently say that you should definitely give this pizza a try if you are a vegan in the area!
Though there was no tomato sauce, there was instead a beautifully creamy truffle soya cream accompanied by chilli, courgette, mushrooms and fresh basil. I did manage to polish the whole pizza off and generally had a wonderful dining experience enhanced by the incredibly attentive staff.
Forbici said on their Instagram; “thank you to everybody that queued around the block to be the first to taste a new era of pizza - we enjoyed meeting all 1,000 of you and can’t wait to see you all again.”
