Greater Manchester pub re-opens following huge six-figure refurbishment

The Parsonage, a family-friendly pub in Leigh, Greater Manchester, has reopened its doors to the public following a six-figure investment.

Located in Parsonage Retail Park just a short walk from Leigh Sports Village, the Hungry Horse pub – part of pub company and brewer Greene King – is officially welcoming guests to experience its new and improved look from 24 October.

Key features of the investment include the transformation of the pub’s interior with an open plan restaurant, an extended bar area, new furniture and a bright new colour scheme, creating a more welcoming space that caters to all occasions, whether customers are stopping by for a quick bite to eat or celebrating special moments with loved ones. The Parsonage has also introduced a new self-serve coffee machine to help guests stay energised at the touch of a button.

Following the investment, the Parsonage’s sports viewing offer has been significantly improved with the installation of upgraded TV and sound systems, providing sports enthusiasts with the ultimate spot to keep up with the latest fixtures across Sky Sports and TNT Sports. Those with a competitive socialising streak can also challenge friends and family to a game on the pub’s sleek new darts lane.

Guests can look forward to trying the Parsonage’s new seasonal menu this autumn, with menu highlights including Crispy Chicken Strips Nachos, The Smoky Rancher Burger and a Katsu Curry Feast. The Parsonage will now open from 9am every day, offering a delicious breakfast menu with a wide range of options including a Big Brekkie Roll, Waffles Benedict and a Frozen Smoothie Bowl.

To celebrate the relaunch, the Parsonage invited local residents and regular customers Thelma and Bert Tolley to cut the ribbon marking the pub’s official reopening. The Parsonage also donated to local rugby club Leigh RUFC as part of its efforts to support local community initiatives.

Josh Powell, general manager at the Parsonage, said: “We are delighted to be unveiling the Parsonage’s brand-new look and feel this October following a month-long investment. We know how much the pub means to the local community, and with a revitalised interior, a delicious new menu and an upgraded sports offering, we are here to serve up fantastic experiences to guests of all ages, no matter the occasion. Come on down and visit us today!”

Following its reopening the Parsonage has an exciting pipeline of entertainment for friends and families to enjoy, with upcoming events including children’s Halloween Breakfasts and a new general knowledge pub quiz every Sunday.
