Manchester based Yara, Yum Cha and Get Baked are up for the Independent Restaurant of The Year Award and 27 other restaurants ranging from fish and chip shops to curry houses (which are in the North of England and Midlands Restaurant Awards shortlist) are also up for an award in categories such as Best Burgers, Best Pan Asian and Best Pizza.
In total there are 65 award categories. This year there is the introduction of several new categories - Lifetime Achievement, Changing the Game, Role Model and Rising Star.
Deliveroo has also secured the star judge that is Tilly Ramsay, daughter to world-famous chef, Gordan Ramsay. Tilly will be judging the Independent Restaurant of the Year Award and the Rising Star Award.
Tilly Ramsay said: “I can’t wait to take my taste buds on a tour as I rate some of the most loved local eats from around the UK and Ireland as part of the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards. The shortlist of restaurants looks epic and I'm excited to get stuck into deliberating the dishes for the top title, Independent Restaurant of the Year, with my co-judges.
She added: “It’s also a huge honour to be supporting the next generation of restaurateur talent as part of the Rising Star award - as a recent culinary school graduate and someone still early in my career, it feels very special to celebrate new and exceptional talent in the food industry!”
You can vote for your favourite local takeaway between 14th April and 9th May 2025, with voting closing on 9th May at 11:59PM. Those who vote will be entered into a draw to win £150 in Deliveroo credit.
The winners will be announced on Deliveroo’s social channels on 28th May 2025.
