No one should need an excuse to treat themselves to a pie. But if you do, you’ll be glad to know that it is National Pie Week.
As a proud Northern region, there is an abundance of pie restaurants, pubs and market stalls in Greater Manchester to suit all tastes – from the classic Lancashire cheese and onion to the mighty Wigan kebab.
Here are some of our favourite pie places in Manchester, as well as some recommendations from our readers.

Pieminister has locations all over the country, including in Manchester city centre in the Northern Quarter and on Deansgate. They have a good selection of vegan options and fusion flavours, as well as the class Moo steak pie. You can also buy them to cook at home.

This Northern Quarter spot is not only a good place to go for a pie, it also has a great selection of craft ale and it's a popular bar to watch sports. They also have a great roast dinner pie.
