A European beach which has been named as the best in the world could be the centre of your summer getaway this year. The beach can be reached with a round a 2 and a half hour flight from Manchester Airport. 

Playa de Muro beach is located on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. Sitting in the north of Mallorca, the beach is six kilometres of bright white sand and is also Blue Flag accredited.

According to the Rightboat survey, Playa de Muro is the best beach in the world with the most natural wonders. The beach scored the highest for the number of ‘clean’ mentions at 38%, suggesting this beach is one of the world’s cleanest beaches. The beach also scored highly for ‘clear’ and ‘beautiful’ word mentions.

Righboat collected the data on many beach resorts around the world using over 300,000 Tripadvisor reviews. Using this, they have collated various lists to identify which beaches came out on top. 

Playa de Muro came out on top ahead of beaches from all around the world. Included in the list are two beaches in Australia and three in the Caribbean.

The stunning beach is located closest to Palma Mallorca Airport. The airport is around 28 miles away from the beach.

Direct flights are available from Manchester to Palma Mallorca, with several departing every day. According to SkyScanner, a one way flight can be booked for less than £30 through either TUI or Ryanair.
