We all love Manchester, but sometimes you just need a change of scenery – and English Tourism Week 2023, which runs 17-26 March, is the perfect excuse to do just that.
There are several public transport options in Manchester, but if you’re on a budget, travelling by coach and bus can often be the best option. The journeys may take longer than the train, but the ticket prices are almost always cheaper.
We’ve looked through coach operators National Express and Megabus, as well as travel comparison site Omio, to find some of the best places you can travel to directly from Manchester. From seaside resorts to vibrant metropolitan centres, here are some of our favourite places outside of Manchester that you can get to easily by coach.
1. Llandudno

2. Liverpool

3. Southport
Southport is a seaside town in Merseyside with 22 miles of coastline to explore. It has the UK’s oldest iron pier and a 17-acre stretch of gardens, known as the King’s Garden, located on the promenade, as well as the artificial Marine Lake (pictured).
