The new BBC series ‘The Hidden World of Hospitality with Tom Kerridge’ launched last night and promises to lift the lid on hospitality.

This show comes after the second series of much-acclaimed kitchen comedy-drama ‘The Bear’- its popularity proving that Brits have an appetite for finding out about life behind the scenes of a busy restaurant.

Tom is a well known face on the hospitality scene in Manchester, having once partnered at The Bull & Bear restaurant, which was housed within the Stock Exchange hotel on Norfolk Street and co-owned by football legends Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs and hotelier Winston Zahra.

He stepped away from the restaurant last year, with its replacement Stock Market Grill closing just a few months after it opened.

In a statement, Kerridge insisted that no falling out had taken place and said his restaurant group felt “the need to concentrate on our Marlow and London sites.”

Now, Tom is set to join Gary Usher in August for a series of special guest chef events at The White Horse pub in Cheshire.

The special chef series begins in August with Calum Franklin cooking, before shifts from Tom Kerridge along with North West-based chef Simon Rimmer and Neil Borthwick, among others.

Guests will enjoy a five-course set menu and have a chance to chat to the chefs on the evening.

The first date will be with pie expert Calum Franklin on Tuesday 8 August, with bookings now open on the Elite Bistros website.

The TV show launched last night and featured Ryan Blackburn, who runs The Old Stamp House and Kysty in Ambleside.

Watch on Thursday on BBC2 at 8pm.
