McDonald’s announced on 27 July that they will be increasing the prices of a variety of items on their menu. It’s just the latest in numerous price rises people in the UK are having to contend with amid the cost of living crisis.

For the last 14 years, McDonald’s famous cheeseburger has been available to hungry Mancunians for under £1, but that’s all about to change. At a new price of £1.19, it really isn’t as much of a bargain as it once was.
