The 12 Michelin Guide Manchester restaurants in full as the latest Michelin stars are handed out
Following the announcement of the latest Michelin stars, these are the Manchester eateries which have been recognised by the guide.
The announcement of the Michelin stars is always a hotly-anticipated event, with restaurants eagerly hoping they will have the internationally-recognised mark of high-quality dining and excellence in the kitchen bestowed upon them.
So after the latest announcement of which restaurants in the UK and Ireland have got Michelin stars this time around, we’ve put together this gallery of the 12 restaurants in Manchester that are in the Michelin Guide.
Following the latest announcement on Tuesday night (27 March), Manchester has one Michelin star restaurant, the Ancoats fine dining experience mana. It also has two restaurants with Bib Gourmand status, which are Spanish eatery El Gato Negro and Red Bank venue The Spärrows, as well as one Michelin Green Star in the shape of Stockport restaurant Where The Light Gets In.
The Michelin Guide recognises restaurants according to five criteria (quality of products, mastery of flavour and cooking techniques, the personality of the chef represented in the dining experience, harmony of flavours of consistency between inspectors’ visits), while the Bib Gourmand recognises great cooking at comparatively modest prices and the Michelin stars represent a pinnacle of excellence coveted by chefs the world over.
So if you’re looking for where to enjoy a special meal out, you could do worse than picking one of these 12 establishments across Greater Manchester.
