The Complete University Guide has released their university league tables for 2024. The tables assess each university in the UK on various factors. 

Universities are given a rating on Entry standards, Student satisfaction, Research quality and Graduate prospects. These ratings are then combined to work out an overall score which is then used to form the league table.

Greater Manchester has four universities which are included in the league table. Three of the four universities have moved up at least one place on the 2023 tables. 

Despite slipping two places from 2023, the University of Manchester remains in the top 20. It sits in 19th place. 

The highest ranked university in the North West region is Lancaster University which has moved up from 11th to 10th in the 2024 table. To see the league table in full visit The Complete University Guide.

  • University of Manchester - 19th - drops from 17th- Overall score 76%
  • Manchester Metropolitan University - 60th - up from 67th- Overall score 62% 
  • University of Salford - 82nd - up from 85th - Overall score 58%
  • University of Bolton - 120th - up from 124th - Overall score 47%
