Oui, Oui, Oui! Barratt Homes’ Bikers Cross The Finish Line In Paris

Bike riders from Barratt Homes Manchester have finished the 274-mile journey from London to Paris in support of Andy’s Man Club.

From the 19th and 22nd of September, a group of 25 riders from Barratt Manchester and other affiliated organisations journeyed over three days to reach the city of love.

Eion Reynolds, Site Manager at Barratt Homes Manchester, said: “In the beginning, the mood felt mixed, there was a lot of excitement mixed with uncertainty and trepidation however there was an overwhelming feeling that we would do it.

“There were some who wanted to go as fast as they could, break some personal records and push themselves, and others, myself included, who just wanted to make it to the end.”

The group trained rigorously for this expedition, Eion himself trained as many evenings and weekends as he could, knowing that it would take everything he had to get through it.

Eion continued: “The hardest part for me was on day two when it seemed like there was just hill after hill after hill. I was physically and mentally drained; the only thing that kept me going was the people around me and my determination to get to the end.

“Quite a few of the accomplished cyclists stayed back with the less experienced cyclists, whether it was just cycling with them for moral support or offering tips and advice. This extra moral support was a massive help to me.”

“A massive thanks to everyone that was involved, it was a great pleasure to join this epic charity cycle event with such great people.”

This event is part of a larger campaign to support Andy’s Man Club that has been ongoing throughout 2024. This support will be continued with the Barratt Homes Blackburn 10k, which has been organised in association with Blackburn Rovers Football Club, and will see all funds raised go to the men’s mental health charity.
