A Manchester-based claimant firm has achieved a 90% success rate for bail and removal cases of asylum seekers within a year of launching its Immigration department.

Barings Law, which is known for its work in Data Breach and Business Interruption claims, celebrated the accomplishments following months of successful applications.

The firm offers a range of services for visas, citizenship, indefinite leave to remain, immigration issues, asylum support and passport services.

Speaking about the milestone, Managing Director Craig Cooper, explained: “At Barings Law, we understand the unique challenges our clients face when navigating the complexities of immigration law.

“Our personalised, client-first approach has been central to our department’s success, and we take pride in supporting individuals and families through what can be an overwhelming process.

Immigration is not just about policy; it’s about people, families, children, and their futures.”

Mr Cooper said while he is proud of the department’s success, it is only the beginning for the growing law firm.

“We are committed to ensuring that we can continue to meet the growing demand and provide top-tier legal support for those in need,” he pledged.

This accomplishment follows the firm’s recent win for a client to remain in the UK, just three days before he was set to be removed.

In 2023, 'Aden', whose real name has not been used, was ordered to leave the UK by the Home Office within five days after his asylum application was denied, despite fearing for his life due to a ‘blood feud’.

Desperate, he contacted several law firms with no success before turning to Barings Law Immigration Lawyer, Marinela Bouzo, in a last-minute effort.

Ms Bouzo worked quickly to overturn the decision, and in less than 72 hours, Aden was granted leave to remain in the UK.

With a clear understanding of the complexities involved in immigration cases, Ms. Bouzo highlighted how even minor mistakes in these cases can have severe and far-reaching consequences.

She stressed the importance of approaching each case with precision and care, as the outcomes directly impact the safety and futures of those seeking refuge.

Speaking on Aden’s circumstances, she said: “Ordering someone to leave the country, where their partner and child reside, in just five days is not only abrupt but inflicts an extreme and unnecessary amount of stress and emotional turmoil on the entire family.

“Not only did this order threaten to tear Aden away from his family, but it also risked violating his human rights. Any interference with those rights must be justified and proportionate.”

Reflecting on her work at the firm, Ms. Bouzo remarked: “At Barings Law, we always put our clients first, working tirelessly to secure favourable outcomes.

“We've often achieved success within 48 hours, understanding that in immigration cases, every minute can make a difference to the lives and futures of our clients.

“It’s often a race against time, but we never lose sight of the human impact of these cases.”
