Foster carers are encouraged from all walks of life, and of all ages, as diversity is key in meeting the needs of the many children that come into the care system.
Becoming a foster carer is a life-changing experience, not only for the child but also for the parents themselves. Manchester-based Renee & Jacqueline have been fostering through Fostering Solutions North West part of National Fostering Group for 15 years.

When asked if they would encourage others to consider fostering Renee & Jacqueline answered: “Absolutely - it can be hard work and emotional at times, but without a doubt is the best thing we have ever done. When I look back on my life at the end, I know I have done something of which I am incredibly proud of. We need more people to come forward who have patience, understanding, resilience and love to give. There are children who need you now.”
Lynn Webb, Regional Director at National Fostering Group has said: “As we enter 2025 many of us will be considering our New Year’s resolutions and starting to think about what it is we want to achieve this year. Choosing to foster a child is one of the most rewarding and enriching decisions you could make. Our foster carers are some of the most dedicated, loving, and hard working individuals around and there has never been a better time to join them. Fostering really does change lives so why not make this the year that you foster”
