Local children win The Guinness Partnerships’ road safety poster competition
Over the summer the children themselves put-up homemade signs on trees and lampposts asking for cars to slow down, but as they were made from paper they faded and fell apart within a couple of weeks.
Having seen the posters, Guinness’s local Customer Liaison Officer thought it would be a good idea to hold a competition where the local children could design a road safety poster, as the area has a problem with cars driving the wrong way, on a one-way road as well as driving too fast.

At a special prize giving event Santa and one of his elf’s came along to congratulate the lucky winners and give them a present to thank them for helping keep the area safe.
Katie Gilmore, Customer Liaison Officer at The Guinness Partnership said: “I would like to say a big thank you and well done to all the children who entered the competition. We had a fantastic response, and all the entries were of a very high standard. These new road signs will play an important part in keeping our roads safe for everyone.”
Aila, one of the winners said: “I am excited to see my poster up on the street. I hope it will make people slow down for the safety of the children and residents, who live on the street.”
