Homebuilder supports charity at the heart of Greater Manchester community

Barratt Homes has made a £1,500 donation to Holly's Hearts to support its services to provide gifts, experiences and respite breaks for children living with cancer to create heartwarming memories for their families.

The contribution was made as part of The Barratt Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.

In a short space of time, Holly’s Hearts has gifted over 60 families with family days out, Center Parc breaks, caravan/lodge breaks, theatre tickets, such as Disney on Ice experiences, and football match hospitality.

Jenny Prince, Co-founder of Holly’s Hearts, said: “This donation will help us continue to provide gifts for children going through such an awful time. We aim to improve the lives of children with cancer by offering gifts, experiences and respite.

“We aim to create heart-warming memories the children and their families can treasure forever. Families across the north-west who have had a child diagnosed with cancer can apply for a gift.”

Anyone looking to benefit from Holly’s Hearts’ services can either apply through the charity’s application form or be referred by their key worker.

“We worked with Friends of Rosie, The Joshua Tree and Milly’s Smiles to co-organise a Christmas Party for the oncology ward at The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. The party was a huge success, and we plan to do it again next Christmas.

“It’s extremely important to donate to local charities as you often know and see where the money is going, and the difference it makes.”

Holly’s Hearts runs events throughout the year including bike rides, summer fairs, charity balls, football games, cricket matches and many more. Anyone looking to find out more information about events and the charity’s services can visit its Facebook or Instagram pages.
