Greater Manchester GP surgery leads the way in patient care

The Brooke Surgery healthcare centre in Greater Manchester has scored higher than the national average for patient care, according to a recent independent survey.
Currently servicing over 19,000 patients in Tameside, via its healthcare centre on Market Street in the centre of Hyde, the healthcare centre offers access to medical advice 24/7 allowing for patients to get information, signposting and advice whenever they need it.

Hide AdInitially pioneered as a response to the call for healthcare during the pandemic, the surgery offers healthcare support via its online system that allows access to a GP practice at all times of the day and night.
The Greater Manchester surgery’s approach means patients can ask for medical advice, organise in-person telephone and video GP appointments, with an average of five hours from request to appointment.
The accessible patient care and focus on delivering healthcare and advice, has made the North West GP practices earn one of the highest ratings, and with excellent feedback from patients on the team and the care provided.
In the latest Patient Experience GP Surgery results, the Brooke Surgery excelled with high rankings across the board for ongoing health support, ease of contact and appointment booking as well as patient care during the consultation.

Hide AdThe independent patient care survey, which rates GP practices throughout the NHS, identified the Brooke Surgery as having 87% of patients describe their overall experience of this GP practice as good - higher than the current national average of 74%.
With the national average for patients finding it easy to get through to their GP practice by phone sitting at 50%, the Brooke Surgery has excelled at 79%.
The surgery’s digital accessibility through its app and website also saw them earn high marks, with national averages for patients in general contacting their GPs sitting at 48% but for the Brooke Surgery they scored 89% for ease of contact via their website and 85% for being easy to contact through the NHS app.
The Brooke Surgery’s medical team were highlighted as one of their strongest assets, as over 9 out of 10 patients rated them highly for their support and care. The results identified that 93% of patients said the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to was good at listening to them during their last general practice appointment, 93% of patients noted that they had confidence and trust in the healthcare professional they saw or spoke to during their last general practice appointment and 94% felt their needs were met during their last general practice appointment. Additionally 95% also pointed out that the reception and administrative team at this GP practice are helpful, which is significantly higher than the national average of 83%.

Hide AdCommenting on the latest results, Dr Nabeel Arshad said: “We have always focused on offering the best patient care possible, and the latest GP Patient results confirm that we are still seen as accessible, dedicated to supporting patients we see and that they feel our team are empathetic and able to help them with their health.
“These latest results cement the work we have been doing since the pandemic to ensure that speaking to a GP or accessing healthcare advice doesn’t feel out of reach for our patients, and that they feel listened to, supported and know where to turn next.”
Adding, Dr Shay Kuponu shared: “Not only did we rate highly for how our patients access us, whether it’s through the phone, app or website, but our entire team - medical and our reception and admin team members - were noted as being friendly, helpful and providing the healthcare support our patients are seeking.”
