Stockport-based jewellers Warren James reveals huge £118.2M turnover

Turnover and profits have risen at a Stockport-based jewellery business which was established by two siblings nearly 50 years ago and now operates nationally.

Warren James was founded by brother and sister John Coulter and Ann Jones in 1979.

In newly filed accounts for WJH Ltd, turnover at the business climbed from £106.3m to £118.2m.

Operating profit for the period rose from £42.8m to £44m

Warren James said challenges faced by its physical shops continued to be partially mitigated by its website which trades strongly.

The Stockport-headquartered business emphasised it was "fully committed" to its 200+ store estate, but added that each physical location is closely monitored.
