This summer, Experian is hitting the ground running with the launch of a new nationwide run club series that kicks off in Manchester, in partnership with endurance athlete and adventurer Russ Cook, better known as The Hardest Geezer.

Following his world-first run of the length of Africa and fresh back from his latest challenge running the length of New Zealand, Russ is bringing his trademark grit and no-nonsense approach to a new kind of challenge – helping young people take their money journey one step at a time.

The initiative invites young people across the UK to lace up and join free run club events, with the first hosted by Manchester Road Runners. But this isn’t just about pounding the pavement – each event will explore how the resilience, discipline, and goal-setting involved in running and fitness training can be applied to money management.

Russ Cook says: "The mindset I use for my runs – discipline, small wins, getting up and doing it again – is the same one I use when thinking about money. It’s not about perfection; it’s about progress. I’m proud to work with Experian to help young people realise they already have the tools to take control of their financial future.”

Whether you're a seasoned runner or a total beginner, the run clubs are open to all and designed to get participants moving, talking, and thinking differently about money - from budgeting basics to setting long-term financial goals.

Event highlights include:

  • 5km run lead by Russ Cook
  • Fun activities, games and challenges
  • Prizes up for grabs
