Manchester auditions seek next generation of music theatre stars

NYMT’s Manchester workshops are open to young people aged 10-23, from those with experience in music theatre to those just starting their journey. The workshops provide a supportive and nurturing environment where performers can refine their skills and gain valuable insight into the world of professional theatre. Whether you're an aspiring actor, singer, dancer, or all three, this is your chance to make a lasting impression and take your passion for theatre to the next level.

The National Youth Music Theatre has nurtured countless talented performers who have gone on to achieve success in the professional world. Famous alumni include Idris Elba, known for his roles in Luther and The Wire, and Rosy Church, who has starred in Les Misérables in the West End.

As part of its 2025 programme, NYMT will feature an exciting lineup of productions, including Fame The Musical, Carousel, Tuck Everlasting, and Lightning Boy. The year will also include creative workshops for young writers, composers, and directors to collaborate and develop their own original works, alongside new commissions such as Carmilla and The Unstoppable Letty Pegg.

Kerry Ellis, NYMT’s newest patron, says: “I am beyond proud and honoured to be a new patron of the NYMT. I had such an amazing time when I was younger, and it really made a difference to my future. I’m proud to have been part of one of their shows and hope lots of other young people have the opportunity to experience what I did.”
