A look at how each Premier League club did when it came to overspending to see where Manchester City and Manchester United rank.

It proved to be a busy summer transfer window for both Manchester City and Manchester United.

Both clubs spend significant amounts of money in a bid to improve their respective squads, with City splashing a large chunk of their spending on Josko Gvardiol, while Rasmus Hojlund was United’s marquee signings. Though, plenty of other Premier League clubs also spent big, and with that in mind, we have taken a look at how much each club has overspent according to Transfermarkt’s player values.
