Manchester City and Manchester United both finished in the Premier League’s top three last term

Manchester City and Manchester United are both hard at work as preparations continue for the 2023-24 Premier League season.

City will be out to defend their league crown for a fourth-straight season after beating Arsenal to the title last term. In their first campaign under Erik ten Hag, United finished third to clinch Champions League football. They also picked up the League Cup as City won the treble.

Pep Guardiola’s side travel to newly-promoted Burnley on August 11 to kick off the new campaign while United will close out the first round of action at home to Wolves on August 14. Both games kick off at 8pm.

Plenty of transfer activity has already been carried out across Manchester, with United securing deals for Mason Mount and Andre Onana while also signing former defender Jonny Evans on a short-term deal.

City have signed Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea and are also being linked with a move for Joško Gvardiol of RB Leipzig. Ilkay Gündogan has left the club following the conclusion of his contract while the likes of Riyad Mahrez is also being linked with a move away.
