Manchester City and Manchester United have put together very different starts to the season so far.

Pep Guardiola’s champions won all four of their games leading up to the international break, while United won two and lost two, going into the break on the back of a defeat to Arsenal. In reality, the two sides likely have different expectations for this season, even if United will want to close the gap on City, but in any case, this will be a hugely competitive Premier League campaign.

As both sides work to improve over the break, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding both sides.

Mitoma interest

City are said to have identified Brighton star Kaoru Mitoma as a target ahead of the winter window.

According to 90min, City and Liverpool are interested in Mitoma, who burst onto the scene with hugely impressive performances last season, helping the Seagulls to Europa League qualification. City are likely to want a winger in the winter after allowing Riyadh Mahrez to leave the club in the summer, and Mitoma’s direct approach makes him a potentially ideal canidate.

Though, convincing Brighton, who have already lost Moises Caicedo and others, to sell will be another challenge.

Amrabat concern

Morocco boss Walid Regragui has confirmed that Sofyan Amrabat has picked up a small injury.

Amrabat was snaped up on a season-long loan with an option to buy on deadline day, but United may have to wait to see the holding midfielder depending on the severity of his injury. Regragui has confirmed: “Sofyan Amrabat felt something, and we let him go as a precaution because he has just started his new adventure with Manchester United.”

The good news for United is that Morocco have released the player, not risking any further injury.
