United fought off competition when they signed Collyer from Brighton two years ago. The young midfielder earned a deal after he impressed while on trial, in particular with his performance in a friendly game against Huddersfield Town.

Collyer has been a key performer for United at youth level and has established himself as a regular at U21s level since he joined the club.

The youngster was included in Erik ten Hag's pre-season squad for the opening fixture against Leeds United last July, where he was an unused substitute.

Collyer was first included in a competitive matchday squad for United's defeat to Fulham back in February and was also a substitute against Nottingham Forest, Man City and Everton.

He is yet to make his competitive debut for the club but has already been assigned the No.65 at senior level.
