Like the final four years ago, this year’s team are likely to become future stars of the Premier League, especially given City’s peerless record at developing youth talent in recent years. But the Blues lost their league crown to rivals Manchester United this season, and were also beaten by their local rivals in the final of the Under-18 Premier League Cup, so the Youth Cup offers City their final chance of silverware this term.

Wins against Watford, West Ham United, Reading, Tottenham Hotspur and Bristol City set up the clash against Leeds, who have won the competition twice before in their history. City have also enjoyed their recent meetings against the Yorkshire side and won both league meetings this season by three goals, the most recent of which was less than two weeks before the final.

With the showpiece occasion being held at the Etihad, there is a huge advantage for City. Ahead of the game here’s all the pre-match information.

When is the FA Youth Cup final?
