What to expect if you’ve got plans this long weekend.

The first of two bank holidays in May is almost here, and across Greater Manchester people will have plans in place. The weekend comes with hopes of decent weather so these plans can be made the most of.

The Met Office forecast for the weekend is here, and it looks to be a warm, potentially muggy one across the region. After sunny spells Thursday (May 2), the cloud is set to be a factor across the weekend itself.

Temperatures hit 20C on Thursday, but Friday saw this drop to around 14C. Be on the lookout for showers, as some are in the forecast for most of the day and will get heavier through the night.

Sunday should feel slightly fresher, but this will be in part down to showers that are forecast in the middle of the day. There will also be some sunshine and a high of 16C will be felt across parts of Greater Manchester.

Bank holiday Monday, an extra day off for many people, will be much of the same with sunshine and showers becoming the norm by the end of the afternoon. 18C and sunshine in mid-afternoon could make for a fine end to the long weekend.
